This is the look of (perplexed) perfection.

Thomas Vanek thanks you for your time, and wants you to watch out for him in the game tomorrow. Because I don't care what anyone says; I have a feeling he's going to be playing. If not, then my intuition made an oops.

Is it too late for a post game post? Pregame: September 19th, 2009.

I know, I really do suck. I was going to make a post yesterday but ended up getting sidetracked with a few things and wasn't able to get around to it. The picture above pretty much sums up how I felt about the game, though. Yeah they lost but it's only the preseason. I was told by Tamara that Thomas was wearing the 'A' on the Thursday and the fangirling commenced. I was so happy. So Thursday's game still turned out pretty well for me.

Tonight, they face the Red Wings. Those pesky Red Wings. Good thing Ty Conklin isn't still around because that might've spelled bad news for the Sabres. A few guys have been swapped out of the roster, but others have stayed put. Ryan Miller will be in net tonight for the entire game with Jhonas as the backup. I wonder why they aren't switching out?

Here's hoping for a good win tonight against Detroit! I'll be listening to the radio as per usual. I just wish that there was even an internet feed of the game so that I can watch it and see them.

Don't beat a dead horse when it's already down.

I can't hate him, and I never will.
That video basically sums up my feelings about last night. He probably hates himself now and I'm sure there are those out in the blogosphere who are ripping him apart piece by piece. We all make mistakes - big ones.
I'm just not going to be the one who continues to beat him down when he's already pretty low to the ground.

Just put a stake in it. Sabres lose, 6-3.

Well well well, another loss and another epic fail third period for the third game in a row. Lovely.

The only highlights I could gather from this game were how physical the Sabres were in the first and second (I didn't see much of the third to be honest with you), Thomas Vanek getting rather aggressive all game, Dominic Moore scoring his first goal as a Sabre, and Chris Butler getting his first NHL goal ever. The penalties were also few but at the same time, the Sabres were 0-for-6 with the Flyers being 2-for-2. Are you joking? What happened to our 5th PP and 5th PK in the league? Nice going chumps.

The Flyers also swept the Sabres this year. Absolutely disgraceful. Not only do I hate everything having to do with the Flyers, but a lot of the guys on their team just look like a bunch of douches. Especially Mike Richards. Douchus Maximus as I called him earlier on Twitter. What a joke. I don't care if he's a great player while short handed or if he's a good captain, I still hate the guy's guts.

Daniel Briere's arm pump is old. I hated when he did that even while he was still here. Sometimes I wonder why he was my favorite Sabre before Thomas Vanek came around...

Who do we play tomorrow? The Rangers? Does it even matter anymore?

*facepalm*

I've seen a face;

A beautiful, Austrian face.
According to Lindy, he's supposed to be back on Wednesday at the earliest. Bank on it fellow Sabres fans.

Lalime is good to go also for the Sabres tonight, and his career record against the Hurricanes is 11-4-0. There's something to dwell on as we get ready for puck drop in ten minutes.

Let's go, Buff-a-lo!

This day has been dy-no-MYTE.

Things that I wanted to go down on my birthday:
-A Sabres win (Yeeeeeah!).
-Thomas Vanek to update his blog and tell us how he's doing. Uh huh uh huh
-Thomas Vanek to sing happy birthday to me in German. (Unfortunately, wishful thinking on my behalf.)
-To receive a Vanek Gophers jersey. (THEY DON'T HAVE THEM ANYMORE AT LAUX!)
-To spend some family time with my parents. :D
-Go to Chef's. Oh yeah.
-To have an overall good day, yepperskadoodles.

Now please boys, break your curse on my birthday and win. That would be quite lovely.

Boy, you're a natural wonder.

There are too many good things I could say about this game. Tim Connolly being on fire lately. Drew Stafford's amazing, highlight reel goal. Ryan Miller with the shutout. And my boy, Thomas Vanek, with his 5th career hat trick and fourth straight natural hat trick. I'll have to think of some things to talk about during school tomorrow, because for now, I'm dead tired.
Just one more thing: Thomas and his interviews are too sweet because he's so humble about everything. He never takes credit for anything he does. I really like that about him. I wish he didn't put so much pressure on himself, but the way that reflects his character? That says a lot about the kind of person he is.

Power outages have awesome timing.

It's the hair.

I thought the Skills Competition from last night was the best one I've seen in the past three years. Puck Daddy has a post up about how personality was actually being shown here, and he's right. Ovie with his breakaway attempt, Savvy and his commentary on Versus, and pretty much every event had some flavor in it.

I feel bad for Mason Raymond, but I'm glad that he managed to stay on his feet after he almost slipped on the ice. His time was the slowest, but I give kudos to him for not falling the whole way. Don't be embarrassed! At least you didn't pull a Mark Streit. :P

I only saw Kane, St. Louis, and Getzlaf during the breakaway competition because our power decided to shut off. We were without it for about 20-25 minutes and when we got it back up again, the Youngstars game was on. I completely forgot they changed the format from East vs. West to Rookies vs. Sophomores. I was rooting for the Sophomores (Kris Letang. <3) but they failed me. But I was glad to see Blake get a hatty. Good for him!

I thought for sure Kaberle would take the accuracy shooting again, but after he nailed three targets in eight attempts? Yikes. Malkin and Heatley going head-to-head was pretty cool, and I rooted for Geno. I'm glad he won it, but did Chris Simpson really have to put him through an interview? The guy just started speaking English and I felt bad for him. I did like what he had to say about helping Ovie out during the breakaway competition, though.
"He goes 'Help me.' And I go 'What is going on?'."

Up came the Hardest Shot, and I can't believe Chara beat the record. Over 105 mph...I feel bad for whoever blocks a shot by him next. It hurts my bones just thinking about it. Shea Weber totally thought he had it until Chara blasted that last one. I love that the money that was bet on it is going to the organization 'Right To Play'. What a wonderful thing to do. (:

I didn't think the Elimination Shootout would ever end. Doan and Savard went for seven rounds, I think it was? I thought it was so cute when everytime after Doan scored, his daughter hugged him around the neck. I love how the players bring their kids to these events. :D It makes me smile.

Around the seven-minute mark. Thanks for proving me wrong Thomas, I appreciate it. (;

Why so serious, Thomas?

I almost snorted looking at this picture. I love the look on his face because it's so amusing and just like '*smug*'. Loving the hair, too.

I do very much approve of this photo, though:

I seriously cannot wait until tomorrow night!

Happy birthday, Thomas!

So it's my favorite left winger's 25th birthday today. Which means he should score maybe two goals (or even a hat trick tonight) as the Sabres face the Panthers. This game is very important because Florida is only two points behind us. Remember when they were not so good? Yeah, I think those days are over, unfortunately.

Patches is in because Teppo had to get facial surgery with the hit he took from the puck on Saturday. I'm interested in seeing how he'll do. I hope that he does well because it kills me to know that Patches has been scratched so much in all of these games.

But anyways, here's to you Thomas Vanek - for never ceasing to give me more reasons to love you, as a fan and as another person. Have a fantastic birthday!

Aww, look at him when he was only a rookie! Especially that hair and the sunburn, *whistles*. Fox.

Today was a good day.

Attica won their football game against Holley, 50-15.
Thomas Vanek scored the lone goal in regulation for the Sabres.
Ales and Drew score in the shootout to make it a 2-1 win for the Sabres, and watching the boys embrace like that after the first game made my heart soar.
Basically, today was fantastic.
