TEAOTAS returns for the preseason.

Tamara and I actually attended the Leafs game together too, but since I made a video for that game I figured it was unnecessary for the TEAOTAS post. So for the first time this season, TEAOTAS has returned! I know you're all excited to hear about our stupidawesome adventures throughout this season as we go to games. We sat fairly close at the game yesterday and neither of us brought our cameras. Can you say epic fail? Ah well, I'm dangerous with a camera to begin with and sitting up close would have been more of a disaster if I had it on me. Tamara and I apparently were on the Flyers feed at one point if you were watching online or on the NHL Network, and were seen talking. Honest to God, that's not different from how we usually are during games anyways.

The Flyers got off to a quick 2-0 start and the annoying Flyers fans that were sitting near us caused a ruckus. Then that's when the onslaught began with eight straight goals. I was hoping for ten, but I GUESS nine is okay. :P It was a good way to end the preseason with a huge win like that, but as Flyers fans would probably say 'YOU BEAT OUR B-TEAM!!!111' That's your B-Team? They need some work. Better get on that, Phantoms.

Can we talk about Drew Stafford for a minute? You already have? I'm going to talk about him again anyways. I'm talking about the goal. You know what I'm talking about. As soon as the puck went into the net, I turned to Tamara and went 'that was an Ovechkin goal'. There's no video of it online as of yet, but it reminds me of the goal he scored against the Leafs two seasons ago. I stand by my statement that I said on Twitter that the guy is going to get 35+ goals this season. Not good in a contract year? I don't care, the guy deserves a good season and everyone to get off his back. He also got the first star which we were happy to see. :) Aww, Drewseph.

It's weird to think that the real season starts on Thursday for the league. It's about time, to be honest. I just wonder how the boys are going to come out against Ottawa on Friday...we shall see, won't we?

Some proof of Drew Stafford's existence, and a cameo by a smiling Thomas Vanek.

Tamara found this breaking news video on the Minnesota Wild's main website. It's of a charity hockey game in Faribault, Minnesota that was held a few days ago, and...wait. Who do I see? IT'S DREW STAFFORD! He's alive folks, alive and well.

Thomas Vanek also attended the game, and he was all smiles. I'm glad to see that. I'll put the knives back in the kitchen...for now.

Sabres sign Cody McCormick to a one-year deal.

The Sabres signed former Avalanche center Cody McCormick yesterday to a one-year deal. This must be a move to replace Andrew Peters because I doubt after this signing he's not coming back to the Sabres to play. I heard that he's pretty gritty and not exactly a goal scorer. I just hope that his fights are better than Petey's.

Where in the world is Drew Stafford?

While Reggie and General agreed to their qualifying offers either yesterday or a few days ago, there has still been no word on Drew Stafford and what's happening with his situation. Either the Sabres organization are doing a really good job of not releasing information, or he's fallen off the face of the Earth. Ever since the offers were handed out I have not heard one word about one of our extremely hardcore right wingers.

Now, I like Drew. He's actually one of my top favorites on the Sabres even though I hardly talk about him. I would really like if the Sabres could keep him and work out a good deal for both him and the team. A lot of blogs have stated that Ryan Callahan's new contract has set the bar and Drew has around the same stats as him. I just wish we knew what was going on with contract negotiations - if things are looking positive or negative. I just want to hear one thing about Drew, that's all I want.

I love the way Ted Darling (correct me if I'm wrong) said Lindy's name whenever he scored. The way he said it just put me into a fit of giggles for some reason.

To this day, there have only been five players in franchise history to have scored four goals in a single game – joining Ruff and Martin were Dave Andrechuk, Alexander Mogilny and Miroslav Satan, respectively.

So this means Thomas Vanek is going to score four goals in a game eventually, right? Right?

I love when goalies do windmills.

I give Ryan Miller a 9.1. He didn't get his legs up all the way like a true windmill move, but he did it on Sidney Crosby and it makes it that much better.

Everyone's talking about it, so I'll just follow suit.

As you can see, Adam Mair tried to get into a tiff with Chris Neil, though he is yelling at Jarkko Ruutu in the video. Pretty much all the blogs I read have taken note on what happened last night, and I guess it's being reviewed by the league. I honestly don't see what is so bad about this altercation. Mairsy DID NOT fight Ruutu in the hallway. Sure, he grabbed his undershirt, but a huge fight did not break out. The commissioner was in town, yes, but nothing is going to happen from this until the next Sabres/Sens game when they can deal with things on the ice - in a fight. If Mairsy gets a fine for this then okay, but if he gets suspended...well, I think the league needs to chill out. Like the Michael Peca incident. They were overreacting with this one, and if the league suspends Mair as well, then they are surely overreacting on issues not that serious unlike other issues at hand.

Sarah Palin brings some bad mojo to teams.

Courtesy of The Pensblog. It's basically the same sort of thing that happened to Marc-Andre Fleury last year in the Stanley Cup Final, but one, he didn't get injured from it and two, he tripped through the door. I blame Sarah Palin and her carpet for doing this to Manny. Plus, St. Louis lost 4-0 to the Kings. I'm telling you, she is bad mojo.

Should be a good game tonight for the Sabres. I have no idea if I'm going to stay awake for all of it, but I'll try. I hate games that are really late because it's hard to pay attention.

It's been awhile.

The last time the Canucks came to town (or even played the Sabres) was January 19th, 2007. Thomas Vanek's 23rd birthday, to be exact! The Sabres won 2-1 in a shootout (with ex-Captain Clutch scoring the tying goal I think), and I was also sort of upset because instead of Luongo in net during that game, it was Curtis Sanford. I know I wasn't the only Sabres fan upset that Roberto wasn't playing, but I'm hoping we'll be seeing him tomorrow in net for the Canucks.

The Canucks play tonight, and I have no idea who is going to be in net for them tonight. It's completely possible that Roberto Luongo will play both games if he is indeed playing tonight against Detroit. I guess we'll have to wait and see tomorrow how the lineup is going to look for the game.

I still have no idea if I'm going tomorrow...I'm going to guess not. I'm not disappointed, it's just, now I feel guilty because my brother is going to feel guilty if he couldn't find any seats near their seats that were available. I don't want him to feel bad. The fact he would even try to find a ticket means a lot to me. Besides, the Canucks will be back in probably two years, so it's no big deal!
