11.3.10

Postgame: 3-10-10.

The Sabres finally scored more than two goals to take this game in regulation away from the Dallas Stars. The Stars haven't won in this building since...you guessed it! Brett Hull's 'No Goal'. I'm pretty sure what he did is some karma for the Stars in this building. I'm just kidding...but maybe I'm not.

Tyler Myers was a beast last night by recording four points in the game He had a goal and three assists (please correct me if I'm wrong). If this kid doesn't get the Calder Trophy, then I don't have faith in this league anymore. Then again, he has awesome competition in both Matt Duchene and Jimmy Howard who are thought to be the other two Finalists for the trophy. I'm expecting to see an incredibly goofy acceptance speech from him!

Does anyone have any idea as to when Mike Robitaille is coming back to do the Sabres games? I don't mind Danny Gare one bit but I really miss him. I just don't know if he isn't coming back at all this season. Any information will ease my heart a little bit, haha.

Minnesota comes into town on Friday. It's the second game of a 'Western Conference' week for the Sabres. Considering their record before their west coast trip was awesome against the West, I hope the Sabres can get back into that winning groove against the conference.

In Goose we trust.

Woo, what a game! It's nice that MSG repeats games the day after they originally happen because I would be deprived otherwise, especially when I hit the hay early because of school reasons.

I already know that most of the first period was crap because I watched it two nights ago. I went to bed afterwards, thinking I wasn't going to stay up for another game the Sabres lost on a school night and they make me happy by winning in a shootout. Somehow, they did it. Though, it's pretty well known that Marty Turco hasn't been great for the Stars this year, and their defense is 'ehhh'.

I was happy to see the Sabres hitting people this time instead of either missing or just being manhandled. Usually you just have Goose, Mair, Lydman, guys like that hitting people but I saw a majority of the team crushing the Stars. Or trying to, in Vanek's case, because it seems everytime I see him try to hit someone he falls on the ice. Hilarious. I love him all the same.

I was also happy to see the Goose net two goals, watch Clarkie net one and have Yo-Yo look jubilant as he put in his 4th of the season. And come on, who else loved Pommers' little dance after he scored the winning goal in the shootout? It's about time something has gone our way in this sort of situation, and I know that it'll show in tonight's game. Right boys?

Oh hello, I'm back again.

I had a fantastic time at the Sabres/Penguins game that happened on Friday. I'm not one to get too rowdy at games (unless I'm screaming for our boys), but I was one of those people who were all over the refs case about some of the calls they made and the ones they didn't make. My poor stepfather. The poor woman in front of me too! She kept looking back everytime I yelled, and I did it right in her ear.

Dear lady in the Stafford jersey,

Forgive me for screaming in your ear. Oh, and forgive my man for stealing one of your man's goals, because seriously, that went off Staffy's stick.

Sincerely,
the girl in the Vanek jersey behind you.

I didn't really pay attention to any of the game last night because I was spending time with my girlfriend. We watched all of the first, but then went off to go do some other things instead of watch. We did hear that the Canadiens won though, so I knew the boys lost. Sounds like the defense broke down again on Markov's game winning goal. *sigh* I'm pretty happy they they pulled out this week with four points, but six still would've been great to get.

Okay, and now I'm on TSN, and I see the headline SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE.

Dear NHL,

Stop using that freaking headline for every article you bust out. Every two teams that are struggling, and meet, you put that as the headliner. We get that something has to give, thank you very much.

Love,
Shelby

Hm, do I want the Oilers or Stars to win? I don't know...I'll leave this one as a toss up.
